2025 Home Design Trends: Top 10 Predictions
‘Tis the season for 2025 predictions! Although they are only predictions, it is exciting to know what designers believe we can expect for the upcoming year, based on opinions from millions of professionals in the design and construction industry.
- English Style Kitchens
An English-style kitchen exudes warmth and charm, featuring rich wooden cabinetry, deep, earthy tones, and vintage-inspired details. Natural materials like stone countertops, exposed wood beams, and large range alcoves (see #5) create a rustic yet refined atmosphere, inviting both comfort and elegance.
- Rounded Furniture
Rounded furniture and furnishings are gaining traction in home design as people seek softer, more inviting spaces. Curved shapes in sofas, tables, and accessories create a sense of flow and intimacy, moving away from the sharp lines and rigid structures of previous trends. This reflects the growing ‘Organic Modern’ style that includes natural materials mixed with modern colors and shapes which is predicted to be ever so popular in 2025.
- Arches
On the same note, arches are expected to make a strong comeback as well. These curved architectural features will be incorporated into doorways, windows, and furniture designs and silhouettes creating a soft, organic flow that contrasts with the angular lines of past trends.
- Shower Rooms
A dedicated space designed primarily for showering, often featuring a walk-in shower with no bathtub. It typically includes sleek, modern finishes like glass enclosures, minimalistic tiles, and efficient storage, creating a functional yet stylish spa-like retreat. The appeal of this type of shower lies in its ability to integrate features like steam or sauna options, along with aromatherapy and chromotherapy.
- Range Alcoves
A range alcove is a recessed area in the kitchen designed to house a range or stove, often framed with cabinetry or decorative panels. This feature not only creates a focal point in the kitchen but also provides extra space for ventilation and easy access to cooking essentials, adding architectural design to the space.
- Woven and Mesh Cabinet Fronts
Woven and mesh cabinet fronts offer a unique, textured look that adds depth and visual interest to kitchen or living spaces. Their airy, open design allows for both functional ventilation and a more relaxed, contemporary aesthetic, while still maintaining a sense of privacy and style.
- Narrow Wet Rooms
Narrow wet rooms offer a sleek, minimalist approach to bathroom design, maximizing space while providing a functional, open shower area. Their streamlined layout eliminates the need for a traditional shower enclosure, creating a clean, modern aesthetic that’s perfect for smaller or compact bathrooms.
- Wood-Infused Architectural Warmth
Bringing in natural texture and a sense of comfort to modern spaces, warm woods can create a harmonious balance between rustic and contemporary elements. The rich tones and organic patterns of wood add visual depth, enhancing the overall atmosphere with a welcoming, earthy appeal.
- Layers Of Color, Pattern, And Texture
As mentioned in many of our other blogs, layers are still predicted to increase in popularity. These layers can create a dynamic, personalized space that feels rich, inviting, and visually stimulating, adding depth and interest to any room.
- Multiple Outdoor Cooking Options
Backyards were a major focus in 2024, and this trend will continue into 2025, as homeowners look to create the ultimate outdoor entertaining space. While grills remain a staple, outdoor kitchens and diverse cooking options like built-in grills, pizza ovens, and smokers are in high demand, offering a chance to explore new culinary techniques while enjoying time outdoors with family and guests.
